Guys,
Take note tomorrow's training as usual. Please be punctual and check the
Announcement section for more details.
Touching a bit on future training, I guess it is about time you guys already got used to the training intensity. I will discuss with the main i/c of your group (meaning Dianah and Meiqi) regarding training and increasing the toughness accordingly so get yourself mentally prepared.
Lastly, for those going Standard Chartered 10km run I would like to discuss about the meeting time and venue beforehand. That's all I have for now. Shall rush off already before I get late meeting up with my secondary school classmates. Meanwhile, enjoy your day people!

Hey people,
I'm glad to announce that thanks to our dear mate
Shurong who has put in a lot of effort in this, we have our
new blog skin! Woots~
Haha feel a bit ashamed 'cos I was suppose to finish designing one but it is still halfway stuck due to the many things that kept revolving non-stop around me =(. Whatever it is, I hope that you guys do take good care of yourself during this period as the weather is superly weirdly ridiculously erratic. I don't wish to see people fall sick 'cos I already can feel my body falling for the flu virus. LoL okay so drink more water and rest properly!
Tomorrow there's MacRitchie Run 8am at MacRitchie Reservoir[DUH! lolx]. Please be punctual and let any of us know if you can't make it. After brunch we will head to
collect our race entry pack so please bring along your I/C and confirmation slip!Well one last thing I wish to say. Time is passing fast and we have not much time left to train together. All I want to say is I hope to see you guys really benefit and improve through all these trainings thus the need for you guys to push on a bit more
but not to the extend that you guys injure yourself (especially true to Dianah? =P).
If you guys are motivated to train on your own time out of training, do feel free to approach me for a schedule =).I guess thats all for now. Hope to see you guys around real soon and I'm looking forward for the day I can see good results from all these efforts and time spent. Take care my friends!

Hi ppl,
I’m here to share with you guys a few issues on training. Pls spend some time to read through and ponder over them.
Firstly, I shall commend you guys on punctuality. No late comings recently, keep up the gd work!
Okay, from trainings, I have noticed that some ppl find it rather tiring. I can only say that training is meant to be tiring, if you are not tired then it means that you are not working hard enough for your training. No pain, no gain.
Recovery Run
Some of you have requested for longer recovery during the training. Like I have mentioned, you are tired so you would want to rest longer, this is normal. However, in order for the training to be effective, the recovery should not be that long. Recovery run is not meant for you guys to have a full recovery, but to allow you to rest a while and catch your breath. In a race, there’s no time for you to rest, so for now, there’s still at least the recovery run. Also, pls jog for your recovery run, no walking as that will cool you guys down. As you get better, you will be taking a shorter time for your recovery.
Positive Thoughts
Next, pls think positively. Some of you have complained in trainings and said things like “I’m sure to die for this type of training.” Then right from the beginning, your approach to training is already wrong. By doing this, you also demoralises the team unintentionally. Here’s a quote: Whether you think you can or think you can't, you're right. Therefore, you should try to plan out how you are going to carry out the training, how you are going to pace yourself instead.
Also, I believe most of you when doing your run, you will tend to think “Why is the training so long?”, “I’m dying from this.”, “Can I stop?”, “There’s still so many intervals later.” But having such thoughts is not going to help you in any way, instead, it will only make you feel worse. Why not think on the bright side? You can tell yourself that you have accomplished how much and everything is coming to an end soon. During the run, you can think of how you can continue to maintain at a constant pace and also look forward to crossing the finishing point. With that, you should be able to complete your run faster. Remember: If others can do it, why can’t you?
During recovery, you guys can also reflect on your performance, how you fare for your run. Did I hit my target? Was I faster or slower than the previous run? From there, you guys can then better prepare for your next run. There’s some factors that may affect your performance. For example, pacing not consistent, like started too fast and in the end no energy to continue. If your pacing is consistent, then the run will be easier for you as your breathing will be constant, so will be your leg movements. Breakfast also, pls don’t eat too much, only you yourself can judge how much you should eat, so plan well. If you find that it’s b’cos your legs cannot ran fast even though your pacing is quite consistent, then you would either need a speed or strength training. Staying up late the night before and also affect your runs as your body does not have sufficient rest it requires for a hard training. So, do slp early!
Timings
Those training under me, pls try to take your own timing b’cos each and everyone’s run and recovery pace is different, so you can just run by yourself if you are taking your own timing. If only one person is taking timing, then everyone would have to sacrifice their training to wait for the last person right? Pls pass me your timings after every training so that I can track your progress and plan for your future trainings.
Goal Setting
Try to set goals for yourself. For example, short dist ppl can set a target for the respective distance that you are going to take part. Long dist ppl can set targets for 2.4km, 8km, 10km, etc. With a goal in mind, there will be motivation to train for it. Ya, you may say that it’s impossible to win those ppl out there. But you can set yourself realistic goals, to improve your personal best, to make it to the main team, to be able to qualify for the nationals track, etc.
Health
Some of you have been falling sick. Pls take care of your health. Reason: Falling sick= no training= fitness level drop. If you keep falling sick then you will realise you can’t improve much as you will have to train to get back to the fitness level before you fall sick, let alone making progress.
Once again, be more optimistic! If you tie a dead knot in front of you, there’s no way for you to proceed further. Hope everything make sense to you guys, if not, you guys can come and clarify with me.
Hmm, think that’s all for now. Nic, now my entry seems longer than yours.
Take care,
Meiqi

041106 training at MacRitchie
Sunday, November 05, 2006 @ 4:23 PM
I just realised that many of the posts started of with 'Hey guys' so i shall be unique and start this post with 'Yo guys'.
Yo guys,
so i shall be very kind and give those who missed last Saturday's training on 041106 an account of what we have done. Mr Ang didn't take us for this training but Mr Poh took us instead. We went for a leisure run according to him. We had 3 ziz-zags warm-ups and ran back the same route as we ran last or last last week when mr Ang took us. 0.o
Meiqi and me have deproved according to meiqi's watch and jerome ran
too fast. People from XAC who went were Sirong, Jun Xiong, chiu kun. That jun xiong agreed to run with me but he ps me halfway sia, couldn't keep up with him.
Hehe if you happen to chance upon this blog, take this with a pinch of salt ya? So later Jack and the rest came back and we went for our cool down jog. I
jogged with Jerome, Jack and abi who joined us later. Yes and we were
jogging or at least, we
ACTed like we were jogging. After that, we went to Adam food centre recommended by Mr Poh. He strongly recommend or advertised for the
big prawn mee there.
He was bribed perhaps. When we arrived at Adam food centre, what caught the attention of jerome's and mine the most was that the stalls were sort of divided though there's no visible boundary. They were divided into a stretch of chinese food stalls, malay food stalls and indian food stalls in a circular shape manner. Jerome and me
seemed to patronise only the chinese stalls.
Maybe we were too lazy to move further right Jerome? Haha. Jerome and I were hunting for soya bean drink but saw no soya bean stalls instead a sugar cane juice stall. So we went to buy and asked for sugarcane juice since the signboard of the stall was some 'Sugarcane' thing. We got the dumbest reply from this friendly lady. Take a look at our conversation.
Jerome: Give me a glass of sugarcane juice.
Lady: Eh..we never sell sugarcane juice today leh. (in chinese)
Jerome and me: Huh?! (shocked)
Lady: You want soyabean or chin chow? Mix both of them together very nice too
Jerome: Soyabean then.
Me: Soyabean too
That's the ironic answer we had from her even though her signboard was mainly focusing on sugarcane juice. Anyway the conversation is not really accurate, can't remember clearly what we said but this is a rough one. I gt ID dianah if you're reading this. )= So later we all bought our food and started to eat. And i realised that after awhile, everyone seemed to be waiting for jun xiong to finish eating his chicken wing. Most of us parted at Adam food centre later and we went to take buses home. Specialist wanted to go westmall and play air hockey but a pity, majority of us were decked in pe attire. It will be quite a problem to get in hence I propose the idea of going east coast and play since specialist wanted to play hard before his last vacant week flow away like water. )= So upon seeing that, let's grant him his wish!
A brief description of what we will be the itinery like for the east coast trip.
After playing at east coast, we will head to Suki Sushi and attack the helpless sushis there! [Jun cheng thought of parkway parade but i'm not sure if there's a suki sushi branch there. If there is, please post in the tagboard and inform us or inform me or jun cheng ok?]Thanks and last but not least, please indicate your response in the tagboard if you are interested for this outing not. Please free yourself if possible and NO sitting on the fence is allowed. Yes or No if you're interested. Because we might switch to Friday for the outing if many of you all is unable to make it on Thursday. So bear in mind, the outing might be on a Thursday or Friday. The outing is this week by the way.
Thanks guys and seeya! Take care in the mean time and don't fall sick. This is Nicholas here and I'm officially signing off from here. ((=
@ 1:53 PM
